At Iacofano’s Catering & Events, our success is built on people who lead with passion, adaptability, and a deep commitment to excellence. This month, we’re highlighting Jeff Heisler, our Acting VP of Operations, who brings energy, creativity, and focus to every kitchen he touches.


Meet Jeff Heisler

Role: Acting Vice President of Operations
Based in: Cleveland, Ohio – currently stationed in our Columbia, South Carolina kitchen
Time with Iacofano’s: 7 months

Jeff joined the Iacofano’s family after a successful career in high-volume food operations. What drew him to Iacofano’s was the dynamic world of private in-flight catering—a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility and precision.

“I was intrigued by the idea of private in-flight dining,” Jeff explains. “There’s never a dull moment. Every day brings a new challenge and a chance to think on your feet.”


Life at Iacofano’s

When asked about his favorite part of the job, Jeff doesn’t hesitate:

“Ending the day with no lost or late orders and no deviations. That’s the win.”

He takes pride in maintaining operational excellence across our kitchens in Charleston, Columbia, Charlotte, and Cleveland—ensuring every detail is right before a meal leaves the door.

Jeff is also particularly proud of the Regional Menu created in Cleveland.

“It was fun, creative, and truly delicious,” he says. “Seeing our regional flavors represented in such a unique way made the entire team proud.”

One of Jeff’s favorite memories?

“John took a photo of me at the end of Masters Week—with a knife clenched in my teeth like a pirate. It was a great moment after a long, successful run.”


Behind the Scenes

Success, Jeff says, is all about preparation and teamwork:

“A successful shift is done, packed, cleaned, and wrapped up with no loose ends. And absolutely—no Ubers!

He emphasizes discipline and verification:

“Never assume an order is correct. Check, double check, and check again. The details are what set us apart.”

When asked about technology, Jeff gives credit where it’s due:

“It’s not the tools—it’s the people. A tool is blunt. A well-trained team member is the point of the spear.”


Growth and Leadership

Leadership at Iacofano’s means learning and adapting daily.

“This job has taught me to think outside the box,” Jeff says. “Strike three doesn’t mean you’re out. There’s always another way to solve a problem.”

He’s quick to acknowledge those who helped him grow:

“Karla David was my go-to when I started. She taught me PODs, orders, tray setup—everything. She held my hand for a month.”

For new team members, Jeff’s advice is simple:

“If you’re asked to go to The Masters, get good shoes!”


Company Culture and Values

“Every day, I’m focused on developing better plans to help our company grow beyond the sum of its parts.”


Outside the Kitchen

Jeff’s off-the-clock life reflects balance and curiosity.

“My comfort food is pizza—and Mitchell’s Ice Cream from Cleveland,” he says.

When he’s not in the kitchen, you might find him reading, visiting the gun range, spending time with his wife and dog (Peanut), or exploring his passion for science fiction.

If you’re ever in Cleveland, Jeff recommends:

  • Il Rione Pizza for the best pizza in the city
  • Corbo’s Bakery in Little Italy for dessert
  • Deli on Lee for a Hot Italian Beef Sandwich
  • A Bun Dance Chinese for what he calls “the best real Chinese food in the country”

Looking Ahead

Jeff’s goals for the coming year reflect Iacofano’s larger mission of growth and operational excellence.

“I want to see every center fully staffed and HACCP fully implemented,” he says. “And I’m excited to help open new kitchens in new cities as we continue to grow.”
